The Kaufherr Members Resource Center

The Kaufherr Members Resource Center supports professional performers and broadcasters by providing tools to advance their craft, market their talent, hone their skills and expand their opportunities to earn a living in their profession. The Kaufherr Members Resource Center (KMRC) also fosters interaction among the diverse memberships of SAG-AFTRA and Actors' Equity Association. 

The center opened on June 4, 2001, in a 2,500 square foot space adjacent to the SAG-AFTRA office. The KMRC ( is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization benefitting members of SAG-AFTRA and Actors' Equity Association. The KMRC is free for all members of both unions and serves as a meeting place, networking space, and technology center.

Jerry Kaufherr

The center is named after broadcaster and voice-over actor Jerry Kaufherr. Jerry Kaufherr joined AFTRA in 1942, five years after the founding of the Union and the Chicago Local. He joined SAG in 1953, the year the Chicago Branch was established. Jerry served continuously on either the Board or the Council from 1957 until his death in February 2000.  The Kaufherr Members Resource Center was established from The Daniel M. Kaufherr Charitable Trust.
